Commercial judgement shaped inside public service—and from advising it.

Over more than twenty years, I have worked across local government, devolved and UK central government, the NHS, the third sector and private consultancy. I have delivered procurement and commercial work from inside public bodies, advised them from outside, and supported larger consultancies as a specialist sub-consultant.

That range matters. I understand the formal requirements of public procurement, governance and assurance, but also the practical pressures behind them: limited time, competing stakeholders, incomplete evidence and decisions that still need to be made.

For the past three years, I have worked as an embedded commercial and procurement specialist within a major UK central government department, engaged through a leading procurement consultancy. My work has spanned critical operational services, national technology deployment and the formation of major long-term outsourced service contracts using the government Model Services Contract.

My work has included major transport and health infrastructure, retained G-Cloud advisory for a SaaS provider, and international training and advice to public administrators responsible for European funding from Budapest to Zagreb.

I hold a BA (Hons) in Public Policy and Management and a Master of Public Administration from Robert Gordon University. My Chartered Procurement and Supply Professional status is awarded by the Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (CIPS).

Outside client work, I serve in education and community governance roles in South Wales. That keeps governance practical: concerned with evidence, accountability and consequences rather than simply process.

There is no hand-off from a senior seller to a junior delivery team. I form the advice, produce the work and stand behind it.
